Help With Meridian Platinum And 5.13

I recently upgraded my Meridian Platinum to v. 5.13

 

Now my weather page is acting all screwe! The thermometer is not giving any reading, the 24hr. trend is not giving any readings, and the barometer constantly reads 32.

 

Any ideas guys?

You need to do a calibration of the compass...don't ask me why.

Yep. Seems to be a common issue. I had the same problem and calibrating the compass fixed it.

To expand minutely: a full calibration is needed to slap sense into the weather features. IIRC the first time you calibrate the full calibration mode is invoked, but if not you may have to go to the hidden menu to do it.

 

Also, Sportcat, can you verify that you have 5.12 and not 5.13? Haven't heard of the latter, and firmware update rumors start so easily for us firmware-starved Magellanics.

Also when you calibrate the barometer, make sure you set it below 31 InHg. This can cause some probelsm if it gets above that.

5.12 is the latest Ver as of 05/14/04

Just as the others have esplained!!

COMPASS CALIBRATION and RUN TIME are needed for the weather app to display.

By the way, do any of you gays know a more updated version than 4.02 for the origional meridian gps. I need to get to 5.0 or higher to get direct route.

I'll assume that's a typo and answer anyway...

 

There is a 4.05 for "Meridian", but all that it's known to fix is compatibility problems with certain SD cards; it does not add autorouting.

 

This is one reason DirectRoute isn't supported on those models...If 4.02 is working with your hardware, don't bother trying to ferret out the secret 4.05.
