  1. I wonder how this would be taken by some legislatures in South Carolina??? http://www.cnn.com/2005/SHOWBIZ/books/06/0...t.ap/index.html
  2. Could we organize a CITO event in the areas where "the other side" says we are causing problems?
  3. Concerning the H. 3777 cache in Sen. Bryant's District.... My family is heading to Pennsylvania this weekend to visit family (dadgum Yankees ), but will be happy to put together a cache in Anderson. The area around the Anderson Civic Center is a very family-friendly and only has two caches in the area.
  4. Anyway to get this posted on the front page of geocaching.com? Cachers from across the world could support our cause.
  5. Sen. Bryant, What was your take on today's meeting?
  6. Good look those who may be attending the sub-committee meeting today. I live in Sen. Bryant's district - he actually replied to my e-mail about H. 3777 within a couple hours of me sending it. Jon & Miki - my wife and I left Columbia about 2 years ago and have never been happier!
  7. Kevin, Thanks so much for your support! My wife and I live in Anderson and will be happy to have your family join us "out in the field." I have two GPS's and would be happy to share one with your family! -Sportcat
  8. How is battery life between the two? The Summit worked great in the past, but I'm concerned about some of the quality control issues I've read on here about the Vista.
  9. Amazon has the Summit for $169.99 and the Vista for $204.99. I owned the Summit about three years ago and then upgraded to a Meridian Platinum. Now I want to go back to something smaller for geocaching. Would you go with the Summit or Vista? Any quality differences? I need your opinions by Sunday (2/6/05) afternoon. Thank!
  10. I recently upgraded my Meridian Platinum to v. 5.13 Now my weather page is acting all screwe! The thermometer is not giving any reading, the 24hr. trend is not giving any readings, and the barometer constantly reads 32. Any ideas guys? Plus my maps are slightly off.
  11. Shuey, Thanks for your service and support over the months (years?). I got a BFM from you a few months ago - great product and great service. Please let us know when you are back up and running. Good luck in the meantime.
  12. BFM is a "kick-***" pack. No sections are removable, but the pack does "cinch" in areas to compact your gear. I bought mine about a month ago through Team Shuey. You can't go wrong with his prices and service.
  13. Oh goodness, where do we begin responding to this???
  14. Can you give us some specs to work with? Banner size, dimensions? Are we free to swipe your logo from your website?
  15. should I register my current Streets CD somewhere? Will we be notified when upgrades are available?
  16. I did make a change in the prgogram allowing more than 16mb maps. Any other ideas? Are their updates for the Streets software? Or do you just have to shell out bucks for a new CD?
  17. The maps on my Platinum seem to be off by a whole street. I mean that I know what street I'm on, but the GPS shows me on the next street over. I've got a good sattelite lock and fresh batteries. Any idea what's going on? Accuracy kind of stinks. Any reset, or settings to change?
  18. I boughht a Blowfish from Dick's Sporting Goods a few months ago for $49. It's a great pack for day trips. Good mix of water (3L) and cargo space. Of course, my BFM would swallow up several Blowfish. Thanks again Shuey for the great deal on the BFM.
  19. 2 days left. Thanks to everyone who has checked out the auctions, and also to those who have bid. As of 7/27 the Mountainsmith Blaze pack, plus strapettes, is at $47. Someone is going to get a great deal. I also have a medium and large alice packs for sale.
  20. Hey Sheuy, My BFM came today (I was waiting outside the UPS hub this morning to pick it up... I couldn't stand to wait for it all day at work). Anyway, looks like a great, solid pack. So many more features than what camelbak.com states. The free resevoir dryer would have been since, but such is life. Thanks for the great price on a great pack. -Sportcat
  21. My wife and I recently replaced our Sony Mavica for the Nikon Coolpix 3100. We were able to pick it up at Circuit City for $299.
  22. I've got a great Mountainsmith Blaze lumbar pack, a medium alice pack, a large alice pack, and two other backpacks for sell on ebay. Someone is going to get a great deal on the Mountainsmith pack. Check out the auctions at: http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewSellersOtherItems&userid=411stanley&completed=0&sort=3&since=-1&include=0&page=1&rows=25
  23. Thanks for all of the pics Rob. Yep... looks like camelbak.com does NOT do this pack justice. I had no idea the pack has all of these awesome features. Anyway, mine is on the way. Give us an update after you get to use it on the trail a few times.
  24. Holy crap! Within 15 minutes of ordering a BFM on Shuey's site, and I've already received an e-mail saying my pack shipped with a tracking number!!! Plus, there was no excessive shipping/handling charge... a flat $6.95 UPS (ymmv depending on your state). Talk about excellent customer service!!!!!
