inventorjg
I went to turn on my GPS today, and the promptscreen doesn't even come on. Nothing happens. Any suggestions on how to fix? I've already tried new batteries. The GPS is a Magellan GpS Pioneer, an older one. I dropped it yesterday on carpet. Worked fine the day before. Edited to add content. +Stunod
What type of GPS is it? The reason I ask is that there are specific button combination to press to turn on the unit in a "service" (or firmware upload) mode. Sometimes this can save a dead unit. Quote Link to comment
+IVxIV
Check the area the batteries come in contact with, make sure there is no corrosion/acid buildup there. Try giving the GPS a good (yet gentle lol) smack with your palm? What brand GPS? How old? Did it work just fine one day, and now it's dead? Did it get dropped/wet/etc lately? Quote Link to comment
+Latitude 26
Might have jarred the batteries out of the contacts when you dropped it...Try removing/reinstalling batteries & take it from there... I have a TV remote that has this sort of problem. "Bassmeidc" Quote Link to comment
