Cache Placement

Would you seek out a cache in an area with elevation changes too severe for kids, but not hard enough to warrant climbing gear? (steep, and you may get hurt if you are not careful) Also, to get to the cache you must walk past some unsightly trash, too large to move (washer, fridge)? I am asking if this would take away from the natural experience too much? thanks for any help!

... about the elevation changes and the trash, then what you can do is mention that in the cache description. Those who are not up to it just won't hunt the cache.

Place it. As long as you inform people about what they are getting into before they get there. Let them know it's not meant for kids and that may be a physical challenge for some people. Somebody will try it and succeed. As for the trash... as long as it is not a dump (literally), it's OK.

Actually, it's a great cache except for the last 30 feet. Could be dangerous for kids - glad I was alone on this one.

Tracy and I have placed a cache that requires you to traverse a steep change in elevation. There are some "stairs", and we warn people to be careful.

Go ahead and place it. I would hunt it. Heck I've hunted one cache IN a junkyard under a rusty car. They can't all be scenic and worthly of a coffee table book.
