Dan-oh
Has anyone ever used a beta tester or guinea pig to work out the bumps in difficult and challenging caches? I've taken to warning the first 5 cachers that they are my official testers and I'll modify with their input. I suppose I could have just one designated tester but then how do they log the find? I suppose they should be excluded from a FTF since they know about it before anyone else. What to do? Quote Link to comment
stu_and_sarah
I take it as read that an unfound cache might be more challenging than one that's had feedback. All part of the FTF fun! If I think the ratings are off, I'll say so whether I was asked or not. Cheers, Stu Quote Link to comment
CrimsonWrath
I have set up an apparently nasty cache that seems a bit more difficult than I had intended, A-Maze-ing Cache. When it appeared that I had stumped too many people, I used the forum to contact some cachers on the other side of the states and asked them to solve my puzzle. In short order, I had found someone with a solution and all I had to give up was one of my signature tokens! Quote Link to comment
CYBret
One of our locals devised an especially nasty multi-cache and arranged for it to be released on a Saturday. He invited as many area cachers as possible to come and be his guinea pigs on the cache. It was sort of an event...but not really...more like a FTFestival. Hmmmm...not a bad name for it! +Doc-Dean
No test like real-life! No rule to say you can't make modifications as you go if needed... Quote Link to comment
º
I plan to release a cache soon and I'll offer to stay within radiorange for the first geocacher - here in Munich PMR (Private Mobile Radio) is quite widespread Quote Link to comment
WhipArtist
I beta-tested the puzzle for Trivial Math by posting it to my livejournal and asking a bunch of friends to solve it. I wound up modifying three of the questions based on their feedback. Quote Link to comment
