Ever Use Beta Testers

Has anyone ever used a beta tester or guinea pig to work out the bumps in difficult and challenging caches? I've taken to warning the first 5 cachers that they are my official testers and I'll modify with their input. I suppose I could have just one designated tester but then how do they log the find? I suppose they should be excluded from a FTF since they know about it before anyone else.

What to do?

I have set up an apparently nasty cache that seems a bit more difficult than I had intended, A-Maze-ing Cache. When it appeared that I had stumped too many people, I used the forum to contact some cachers on the other side of the states and asked them to solve my puzzle. In short order, I had found someone with a solution and all I had to give up was one of my signature tokens!

One of our locals devised an especially nasty multi-cache and arranged for it to be released on a Saturday. He invited as many area cachers as possible to come and be his guinea pigs on the cache. It was sort of an event...but not really...more like a FTFestival.

Hmmmm...not a bad name for it!
