M9inger
Hey, I'm not real new at this caching thing but I am new to digital photography. I've tried several times to post a photo on line but when I get it down to the required 100k size it is so grainy you can't even tell what it is...HELP!! Quote Link to comment

+hutchca
I usually start by cropping the photo to only show what's necessary. Then I resize the photo to around 640 pixels horizontal or 480 pixels vertical without changing the aspect ratio. Then save it as a jpeg with ~%90 to ~%50 compression. They end up at around 35-50KB P.S. I use Microsoft Photo Editor. It does all the above tasks nicely. Quote Link to comment
+Alan2
I do just about what hutcha does except I use Irfanview which you can download for free of the web. Alan Quote Link to comment
+Turtle3863
I know it may be too late for you, but if anyone else is reading. I find it best to have a digital camera that has deffrent settings. I set it on the lowest resolution when I am geocaching and that way there is no formating when I upload. If I see a real nice picture while I am out I take a high resolution for my collection. +BigBirdNL
If you want to show a large size, large file size picture, you can add a link to an external site with the photo stored. Like BigBird -- there is no spoon -- CacheMaps homepage: CacheMaps Quote Link to comment
+Quoddy
Did you try closing the session and then re-opening again? Before doing this the images will be extremely pixelated. "Blessed are those who can laugh at themselves for they shall never cease to be amused" Quote Link to comment

Nothing else is done with it. BigBird CacheMaps homepage Quote Link to comment
