+DustyJacket Posted February 12, 2004 Share Posted February 12, 2004 In direct sunlight, I don't even need the backlight. The sun makes it look great. I even turn the backlight off. (I have it on a 30 second timer) When not in direct sunlight, but you hve high ambient light, it can get difficult to see. i.e. when inside a car and the GPS is on the dash and it is very bright outside. However, I wouldn't trade that color for much else on the market today. be sure to upgrade to firmware version 5.12. They did wonderful things with the color. Also, DirectRoute is excellent.
