+TeamK-9 Posted January 10, 2004 Posted January 10, 2004 CYBRET's page has a nice thing about Palm here. Quote

+IMLost Posted January 10, 2004 Posted January 10, 2004 I started out using GPX2html and Plucker which isn't a bad way to download caches to your Palm. I just switched to CacheMate it costs seven bucks but it has the features I was looking for like being able to tag caches as found and not found, making notes on my Palm about what I left and took. Now I don't have to carry a small notebook averything is electronic. You can also sort the caches from your current coordinates. Quote
+PDOP's Posted January 10, 2004 Posted January 10, 2004 Hi Rick Here are some links to Palm stuff Dale DePriest's Palm OS Navigation Programs www.palmgear.com Do a search for GPS Quote
+sbell111 Posted January 10, 2004 Posted January 10, 2004 (edited) Take a look at this thread. I use GPX Spinner and Plucker to get the pages into my pda. CYBret does a great job of explaining how to get the job done and includes links to download the software. Take a look at his page. I use Benjamin's921's Geocache Log Book to document my finds. +KirkwoodCacheCrew Posted January 11, 2004 Posted January 11, 2004 I'll vote for cachemate! Wonderful software! Very reasonably priced. Quote
+sodajerk Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 I also vote for the spinner and plucker software. I then use Easy GPS to send the waypoints to my Sport Trac then to my mapping software on the laptop. I can use the Palm notepad to record notes for trade items, condition, etc. The laptop stays in the car, the GPS and PDA go on the hunt. Plucker is not a memory hog, I can get 3 of the 500 catch pocket queries on my Palm IIIx with room to spare. Where I live a 25 mile radius takes up the 500 catch limit, then I specify another zip code to get a little further out then I keep a group of reverse caches to remind me to find a yellow jeep. Works for me. Quote
+sbell111 Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 I never thought of loading locationless caches to my palm. I'm going to do that right away. Thanks. Quote
DiverMan Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 I use the "To Do" function of my palm. All I do is create a new to-do and then copy/paste the text of the cache page into a note of that to-do. It works well for me. Quote
+sbell111 Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 That works, unfortunately you have to do each cache page individually. With Plucker, you can do all the cache pages in a PQ at once. Quote
DiverMan Posted January 12, 2004 Posted January 12, 2004 (edited) True if you are a premium member. I haven't gotten off my lazy butt and ask my wife if it is ok. Here's a good example of how it works at my house. Edited January 12, 2004 by DiverMan Quote
+sbell111 Posted January 13, 2004 Posted January 13, 2004 What are you talking about? Who wears the pants in your family anyway? Wait a minute, its the same way at my house, come to think of it. Quote
