Team BlackZ
I am thinking of placing a cache underneath some high-voltage power lines. Will they play havoc with the GPSr signal reception? MJP303 I would think it would. Be careful too, most power co's own the right aways where the power lines are. Not sure if that would be a problem or not. Quote Link to comment
Keith Watson
I have seen a waypoint move around, come at me and pass right by me while under power lines. Have also found a cache at the base of a power line. All depends on whrere the sats are at the time. Quote Link to comment
Karma Hunter
There was a lengthy discussion of Power Line issues a few weeks ago in the General Geocaching forum. +Karma Hunter
The link to the other Power Line thread that was listed in this post was incorrect. The one listed above is correct. Sorry for the confusion. Edited January 5, 2004 by Karma Hunter Quote Link to comment
Prime Suspect
I've found 3 caches that were under or next to high-voltage line towers. It didn't seem to affect my reception at all. Quote Link to comment

webscouter.
There is a cache in town that is under some power lines. Every cacher that I know that has found it has there GPS bouncing around between 60 feet either way. Quote Link to comment
