chibbert
Hi - just sold my Etrex Legend as I am upgrading to a Streetpilot 2610 but I discovered that the 2610 is basically useless off road. I still want to be able to occasionally go geocaching with my kids so I guess I am going to have to own 2 different units. Honestly, what is an acceptable GPSr to use specifically off road and for geocaching? Will something like the gecko or standard etrex suffice or should i honestly not have sold my legend? I know there are some true experts here so please give me you honest $0.02 Thanks, Chris Hibbert Quote Link to comment
working_stiff
I was thinking of picking up a Legend for off-roading,snowmobiling and some early morning caching! Quote Link to comment
Vlad
streetpilot 2610 and a second gps for the other stuff - what a refreshing attitude! you're doing the right thing. i probably would have hung on to the legend if you've been happy with it for the off road stuff and geocaching. that said if you can do without the mapping the standard etrex or geko 201 will deliver similar performance for little $$$. if mapping is crucial to you then get your legend back or pick up one of the new 60 series coming from garmin in the near future. chibbert
I'm really surprised I didn't get more responses on this. What is a good GPSr to have if you only want to use it offroad? Quote Link to comment

+Alan2
What is a good GPSr to have if you only want to use it offroad? Unfortunately, I think you got rid of it! Quote Link to comment

My impression from lurking is that the V is considered the top of the Garmin line - at least until the new 60 starts shipping.... Quote Link to comment
