+coast2coast2coast
I Sent this to Garmin on Friday... I love my 15 month old Legend but it has screen gremlins and some times the click-stick does not work. Many have noted that it is an internal connection problem. I am just wondering if there is a chance of Garmin fixing out of warranty units for no charge. Seems the $125 fee is a little pricey when the units responds to a whack on the palm. Also I think this should be considered a product recall since so many units are affected. Would appreciate any feedback you can offer. I live in Canada and there are no repair facilities here that I know of... This morning I got an Answer....Check this out Thank you for contacting Garmin International. I'd be happy to help you with that. I have set up a return authorization for you to send that unit in for repair. I have set it up under warranty. Here is the address that you will send the unit in to: Garmin International The unit will take approximately two weeks to be repaired. Best Regards, Thank You Garmin Quote Link to comment
+briansnat
Garmin is quite good about fixing their units, even out of warranty, from what I've heard. Too bad I didn't know this when I sent my Legend back last year. Would have saved myself $100! Quote Link to comment
+coast2coast2coast
I was truly surprised this afternooon...I went to pick up my Legend and when I opened the box there was a letter that said that Garmin had replaced my old GPSr with a brand new one! it was beyond the warrenty as I stated earlier...all it cost me was $14.50CAD ( about a buck 50 USD ) Thanx again Garmin Coast2Coast2coast Edited December 10, 2003 by coast2coast2coast Quote Link to comment
+TerraTrekkers
We had a similar experience with Garmin. We were 6 months out of warranty and it was replaced within a week. I think people should consider support and service when buying a GPS. Quote Link to comment
