azog
Yesterday, I am almost positive that it said that there were caches in 142 countries. This morning, it says 141. I'm just curious as to which country dropped out, is there any way to see? ---------- One banana, two banana, three banana, four. Four bananas make a bunch and so do many more. Quote Link to comment

Team Dragon
It seems that the counts are done based on submitted caches, not approved ones. You could enter cache numbers to find the archived cache but I've never seen a list. Quote Link to comment
crr003
if you're following the vacation cache thread, I'm thinking someone has submitted to the advice of the group and removed a cache placed on vacation that can't be maintained. Is that feasible? Quote Link to comment

Lyra
Anybody know how many countries there are in the world, in light of recent unpleasantness abroad? What countries have we left out? ----- "Man's ability to weasel out of trouble is what separates us from the animals...except weasels, of course." - Homer Simpson Quote Link to comment
+Wander Lost
198 is the last count I heard. That is based on number of potential countries that could participate in the Olympic games. If ignorance is bliss, why aren't there more happy people?? Quote Link to comment
Team Dragon
You first have to define what a "country" is. The US doesn't officially recognize Taiwan or Hong Kong as separate political entities from China (although we have full blown embassies in both, as opposed to consulates) yet Geocaching.com lists them as separate countries. Macau is another special administrative region of China but it's not a separate country on Geocaching.com. Heck, the Holy See isn't listed here either. There are currently 192 independent states in the world plus a few whose status with the US government is limboish. You can make a case for any number from 192 to 200. Quote Link to comment
