+opey one Posted February 16, 2003 Share Posted February 16, 2003 I am in the process of placing a cache on an island in the middle of a lake nearby. Obviously, it will be accessible only from a boat. The area in mention is quite a large area, and the elevation change from the base to top is roughly 250 feet. There are no access trails to the top, so I am considering just making my own way to the top to place the cache. The container is all camo- to make it alot more difficult, though I have not considered where to place it actually. The contents will be of more expensive and appealing items, to ensure the hunt/find will be rewarding for the cache finders. Just curious on how to place a camo cache and not to make it too hard? I am really determined to leave it camo. And yes, I have permission to place it here. Let the opinions fly>>>>>>O1 Quote Link to comment

Who says it has to be easy? Just make sure the rating's are up there in the 3.5 or 4.0 range and say on the cache page it is on an island. That should be enough. logscaler. Quote Link to comment

I don't think you'll get as much traffic and so it might not impact the island too much, in the way of social trails.
