+Night Hunter
I was making a new pocket query when I noticed a check box for Poject APE caches. I could not find anything on the search. Any Info? +nincehelser
They had something to do with the most recent "Planet of the Apes" movie that came out a couple years ago. From my understanding the production company hid a few caches around the US to promote the movie. +SteveOr
They are a series of caches placed to promote Planet Of The Apes. They were placed all over the world and contained a movie prop and promotonal items. A few are still out there. More info can be found at Project Ape's website. Quote Link to comment

+Kevin & Susan
We're sure someone will pipe in with details, but early-on in geocaching history (we were just newbies then) there were a series of caches placed around the world by (we think) the promoters of the re-make of the movie ''Planet of the Apes'' that had recently been released in theaters. There was one in the Santa Monica or San Gabriel mountains here in the Los Angeles area. And I think there was one up in Washington state. They were supposed to have contained ''artifacts'' proving the existence of the evolution of intelligent apes who ruled the earth or something like that. We never attempted them. So we have no record of their GC #'s. We know there was atleast one or two that found the LA area cache before it went missing. Quote Link to comment

+nincehelser
The funny thing is how it went unaswered for about 20 minutes, then we all chime in at almost the same time. I was wondering why no one had answered it yet, so I posted my reply...then came the blizzard! George Quote Link to comment
+Markwell
It probably took that long for everyone to find my page and then copy the URL. Markwell Chicago Geocaching Quote Link to comment
