Anyone else have this happen?

I just got this email from someone who went to retrieve my Turtle Boy TB.

Hi,

In the cache there was a printed business card with the title GeoCache Pest

Control and it stated that the TB was exterminated. They had written the TB

tracking # on the card. I don't remember the date written on the card.

This isn't the only TB that has gone missing in the same fashion. There was

a TB in "Old Retired Cache by Musecachers" GCB58A and it is also gone. It

looks like it is a problem in the Gainesville area. Sorry about your loss.

Maybe the Cache Pirate from Arizona has relocated and is now swiping travel-bugs.

(In case you haven't heard, someone took all of the contents of several caches but left the container and logbook)

If it was a high-profile Arizona cacher looking for a way to 'spice' up the Arizona geocaching game, I doubt we'll ever find out who it was. The community backlash on our local listserv was less than enthusiastic.

And this one

GC4845. If this is some kind of joke, I fail to see the humor. I can't believe someone would go to the trouble of printing up business cards and finding caches just to do this.

They probably just don't want their handwriting recognized. Printing business cards is childs play.

The cards aren't completely printed. Whoever is doing it writes in the tag number and the date they took it on the card, and leaves it in the cache (I saw this particular card yesterday.) There were no logs in the book on that day, but I'm wishing that I'd tried to match it to someone's writing already in the book (didn't think about it at the time...)

As Team GPSaxaphone said, someone has found a creative way to be a jerk.

When in doubt, poke it with a stick.

That's a lot of work. They want attention. If it was just me I'd swipe the dadgum travel bug sell it on the black market and eat well for a day. But then I don't steal TB's for a living; I'm good enough at losing them as it is.
