+Kane Krew
How the heck does this lanyard attach?!?! I can't figure out how to attach the goofy thing to my GPSr. Help, anyone? Quote Link to comment
+apersson850
Remove the cover over the battery compartment, insert the thin loop under the little bar in the groove, then pull the other end of the string through the loop. Don't forget to put the battery cover back! Anders Quote Link to comment
+Kane Krew
That was easy! I had tried using that little bar but couldn;t se how to get the little end through it. Once I knew thatw as the right way it was easy. Thanks a lot Anders!!! Quote Link to comment
+Team Spike
I tried using the lanyard on my Venture for a while but I found that while climbing rocks it would swing out, narrowly missing the rocks. So I bought the $15 Garmin eTrex Carrying Case, and it works much better. When I'm near the cache I can put the Venture on my belt and forget it is there. Its pretty rugged and also protects the screen from scratches. I found mine at Best Buy. Groover Quote Link to comment
ighorsey
Just a word of warning to all who use the lanyard - it is not that strong. The bar snapped off my Venture after only a month or so of buying it. It lucky that I felt the tension in the lanyard go, or else I might have lost my unit.... Quote Link to comment
+apersson850
I don't use the lanyard to carry my unit. I just wrap it around my wrist, hold the unit in my hand, and have the lanyard there just in case I vould loose the grip. Anders Quote Link to comment
+Alan2
The lanyard always get caught on The Velcro on the Garmin case. When you pull the lanyard off the Velcro pulls the threads out of the lanyard. While it hasn't broken mine yet (I've had it since last Sept), my lanyard looks like a spiders web. Alan Quote Link to comment
