  1. Muchas Gracias Diabalo! This is exactly what I needed. Maybe this thread will become a but of a primer on Pocket Queries. Thanks to the cacher who sent me the link above as well. I'll try to keep the forum up to date on my success. Thanks again! Kane Krew
  2. Hey folks, I looked and looked and could not find information related to how to go about getting pocket queries. I have been a paper cacher for years and only recently got my first PDA (a Palm TX) and would love to go paperless. I have been a premium member for quite a while as well. I am surprised that I can not find information related to this topic on geocaching.com or in these forums. Any assistance qould be greatly appreciated! Kane Krew (Dad)
  3. Nyuk Nyuk.. I bet you don't find many folks that wish they didn't have your problems
  4. When I turned on my Garmine eTrex Venture today the display went wacky! At first it just had dim vericle bars scrolling accross the screen. I changed batteries and had the same problem. I then turned the unit off and on a couple times and started seeing shapes the right size for the different screens... after about 4-5 times of cycling the power it finally started working. I have only had it a couple months and wonder if I should contact garmin to protect my waranty or just watch it for a while. Anyone else seen things like this? Also the little plastic piece the lanyard attaches to broke, as someone here warned me about. Thanks for any help! Joe
  5. If geomapper can't do it I can give it a shot. home coords. = 83.97xxx
  6. That was easy! I had tried using that little bar but couldn;t se how to get the little end through it. Once I knew thatw as the right way it was easy. Thanks a lot Anders!!!
  7. How the heck does this lanyard attach?!?! I can't figure out how to attach the goofy thing to my GPSr. Help, anyone?
  8. I hope this is the correct forum for this question. I'm quite new (less than a week with my Etrex Venture) and appreciate any help and/or pointers for correct forum etiquette etc.. Are there routes available for downloading? Either to caches or for other purposes like touring? Thanks, joe
  9. Thanks for all the advice on etrex vs etrex venture.... I bought the venture SAturday night and we went for our first hunt on Sunday. Had a blast! I felt like a little kid and so did my 72 yr. old mother. Can't wait to get back "out there", only problem is I'm spending too much time online at work Joe

  11. Thanks for all the advice. I will look at the price of a legend to see if it may be do-able. Thanks all for your help! I think I asked the right question BEFORE I spent money for a change

  13. I am getting a GPS for fathers day and get to pick it out myself! I'm really excited about this game and can't wait to go for my first cache! Question: The Garmin Etrex is only about $40 less than the EtrexVenture and I am wondering if it is worth the extra $... I can afford either but being a frugal (read cheap) type I would hate to find out later that I bought features I can't use. I don't see me using my GPS for anything but GeoCaching. Thanks All! From reading the posts here I can tell you are a good bunch, hoping to join ya'all! joe
