Sportcat
I made the EXACT same move several months ago. I liked the small size of the Summit, but I love the mapping capabilities of the Platinum. Quote Link to comment
Team Spending Time, Saving Cache
I switched from the Etrex Venture to the Meridian Plat. becuase it held a better signal under tree cover. I am glad I did, I alo like the larger screen and the extra Nav screens. Nice unit, I got it from here http://www.compuplus.com/insidepage.php3?sid=67h7v1qk6beh4s6&id=819 paid $257.00 Live to Cache... Cache to Live... Quote Link to comment

+GOT GPS?
I had a Vista, but gave that to my sister. It had erratic problems near trees & Buldings. My Platinum has been the best cache seeking device ive ever had. For tracklogging, and accurate trip computer info, I have 2 GPS V's. Can't beat this unit for all it does. I have my older one stuffed with Mapsource Roads & Rec for off road use, but if on long trips, I would have City Select maps on both units. -------------------------------------------------- My Old posts as Geoffrey My Current Post as GOT GPS? Sure thing, that was the cheapest I found... I had it shipped next day and still saved a bundle! (I heard of the place because I placed a msg a few days ago asking the cheapest place for this unit and someone posted the link! ) Live to Cache... Cache to Live... Quote Link to comment
+IMLost
I had an Etrex for a couple of days before trading it in (returned it) for a Magellan Platinum and I am very happy with the decision. The Etrex had erratic problems on top of a mountain in the middle of winter on a clear day with no leaves on the trees. Never had a problem with my Magellan. Quote Link to comment
