+Snusmumrikan34 Posted April 30 Posted April 30 Hi forum! I'm building an Adventure Lab with a mystery/storytelling/games theme and the adventurer will need to solve two different riddles in order to complete the sequence I'm making. The thing is, I would like to add clues that will show up if someone has trouble finding the right answer to my riddles. I don't want people to give up or not have fun. So, for the first riddle, if you can't come up with the right answer, I would like the screen to say "wrong", but also, "du you want a clue/some help to crack the riddle?". Then you could push "yes" and you would get a clue. If it's still difficult, I would also like the possibility to choose to get yet another clue, which I have already designed to be "obvious". I want even small children to be able to feel that they figured it out, even if it is, at this stage, quite obvious for an adult. Is there any way to make this happen? I have already written down my two riddles and two clues for each, where the second one for each holds the obvious answer. It would be so much fun if I would be able to use them in the way I described. I would be very grateful if someone knows the answer to this and can share it with me. Best regards, Snusmumrikan34 Quote
+Max and 99 Posted April 30 Posted April 30 (edited) No, this is not possible. You'll have to give the clues ahead of time, not just when they get stuck on the question. Don't forget, that the AL builder now accepts multiple versions of answers. Edited April 30 by Max and 99 Quote

If you like creating a Mystery, then create a Mystery and not an Adventure, where answers should be given by the location's objects and not by doing a riddle. Quote
+Snusmumrikan34 Posted May 1 Author Posted May 1 Okey, I see. Thank you for answering. I thought that I'd done an Adventure Lab like that before, but maybe I remember wrong because it was a while ago. I just don't want to spoil the fun for those who want to ponder the riddles a bit more by giving too easy hints/clues too early, but I will try to find a balance there. Thank you! /Snusmumrikan34 Quote

As HHL said, it sounds more like a mystery, or multi type cache. My first thought was that it sounds like aq Wherigo. I've always wanted to create one, but my few attempts have not gone very far - I just don't seem to get the hang of the coding to make it work the way I want it to. The Wherigo caches that I have completed were similar to what you describe - go to a location, answer a question, and you can code it to give information in stages as the game progresses, in response to wrong answers. The caveat is that you need to learn to code in the Wherigo language, LUA, or use a builder. I never got the hang of it. Quote
