+PlayUsATune Posted April 15 Posted April 15 We always post as we go. Is there an advantage in doing drafts? Love that map idea though 😀 How cool would it be, to be able to see a map of lodged caches for a given day at anytime. Quote

I'm not dexterous (or patient) enough to write more than one or two short sentences on a phone "keyboard", so I always do my detailed logging at home after a day's caching. 2 3 Quote
+Mineral2 Posted April 15 Posted April 15 Advantages of drafts: If you're out of service, you can save your draft and post it later. If you like uploading more than one photo with your log at a time, you can save a draft and submit it from the website. If you like logging your trackables (visit or drop) as you go, you can save a draft and submit it from the website. If you want to batch-log finds (best for power trails), you can save a draft and submit from iCaching / GSAK / or similar app. If you want to make more thoughtful and longer logs later when you have more time 2 Quote

The primary advantage for me, also stated by barefootjeff and others, is to write a better log than I can do on my phone. I quickly note the time, and any details I want to recall later to help me remember the specific cache and then move on. Later, typically the same day, I'll sit down at my laptop with a glass of wine and compose my logs, adding any photos I took. I much prefer a full keyboard to trying to type things out on the phone's touchscreen. Yes, I know you can speak the text, but I've never been comfortable with that. Besides, it always seems to need editing anyway and it's easier for me to just type it on my computer later. YMMV 4 Quote
+Lakegal44 Posted April 18 Posted April 18 This map ability is great for challenge caches. Many times I sign a log and then find I don’t meet the challenge yet. I take notes about it to save for when I can finally log it! The map helps me with details about the location and terrain. Quote
+brekkcaching123 Posted April 18 Posted April 18 This feature is great. It helps that way if I'm finding a bunch of caches, I can make a draft and then I can filter out all of the caches I found but never logged yet. Quote
