booksncomics
I've seen (and copied) a lot of the permission letters posted here. But now I'm wondering what you put on the subject line so the person will open the email? Quote Link to comment

+lee737
I've usually spoken with the person concerned on the phone, so they know what is up..... Then probably go with 'Geocaching in xyz National Park'..... 1 Quote Link to comment
+barefootjeff
My first contact with the park ranger was in person in their office, but subsequent dealings with her have mostly been by email and my typical subject line is, for example, "Girrakool Loop geocache proposal". 1 1 Quote Link to comment
+cerberus1
We've gone personally to every landowner we placed a cache on. Rare that I open anything I'm not already familiar with... Tough for the land manager to say no when you're standing there with a few containers to pick from, and some legal swag shown. 1 Quote Link to comment

booksncomics
I wish I could talk to someone in person, but I've been told to contact the land manager in another state. This will be an urban cache. Quote Link to comment

"Requesting Permission To Place Object" It's absolutely accurate, but enough of a head scratcher for a muggle receiver that I think they usually get opened just to see what they're about. 1 Quote Link to comment
