+Contramine Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 I am the owner of a number of geocaches. At one of my caches I want to include in the listing the geocache name of the geocacher currently reading the cache listing. On the desktop version, if you are logged in, the geocache name is displayed at the top right of the geocache page. How can I get that name in my listing? Who can help me? 1 Quote
+Max and 99 Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 This sounds similar to an audit log? That they got rid of. Regardless, I've never known that you could see at the top of the page who was reading your cache page? I must be misunderstanding! Quote
+Contramine Posted October 3, 2024 Author Posted October 3, 2024 (edited) Sorry Max and 99. I guess I didn't explain it well. You, Max and 99, are reading my cache page at home on your PC. On your PC, you read your own name in the text on my cache page. But also in your geocache app, you read your own name in the text on my cache page. That is what I would like to get done. I don't need to know who is reading my cache page. Edited October 3, 2024 by Contramine Quote
+arisoft Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 (edited) This is somehow similar case when I addeed a hint to the cache listing. The hint was a link to the required information to solve the puzzle. Click here for additional information One player was very upset and requested the link to be removed. +Contramine Posted October 3, 2024 Author Posted October 3, 2024 It is a link to my dashboard. I only want your geocache name in the listing if you read the lsiting. Quote

I guess that this is the best what you can get. There is no HTML code to grab the name from the web page. Quote
+Viajero Perdido Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 "Hello Viajero Perdido, and thank you for viewing my cache page!" This is not possible, sorry. The HTML allowed on cache pages is a limited version, for security reasons, and programmability has been removed. It's been enough for most purposes. 1 Quote
