Find oldest caches in a county?

Hi all.  I want to generate lists of oldest caches in several counties in my area so I can place some challenges.  Can anyone give me some guidance?  I'm a paying member of Project-gc if there's a way to do it there.  Thanks.

List is not allowed source for a challenge. Instead, you have to use a checker that generates the current list of oldest caches.

Requiring finds on ALL the caches on a list of, say, 10 oldest caches isn't allowed.  The finder should have an element of choice.  Also, if a finder found a cache that was older than the current list of active oldest caches, but that older cache is now archived, their find on the archived cache needs to count towards the challenge requirements.

The checker writers at project-gc know about the details of these guidelines.  You can ask for checkers in the special project-gc forum for that purpose.

I'm sorry...I should have crafted a better question.  :)

Yes, I understand about the checkers, that cachers only need to find, say, five out of seven. I did a number of the historic caches of some counties in Florida.  I also know I have to have Project-gc generate the checkers.  The reason I asked how to find the oldest is I was told by someone that I personally had to find said caches before I can make the challenge; thus I need to know which ones to go after.  If that's not a requirement, then my question is moot and I'll just go ahead and ask for the checkers.

You start by requesting the checker. Then you can proceed with your challenge plan.

It might pay to read through all the guidelines on Challenge caches in the Help Centre as there are a lot of them.

Thank you, Jeff, that was what I was told.  But that brings me full circle to my original question then, how do I find out what are the oldest caches in any given county so I can meet whatever challenge I create?

I don't know, other than perhaps using GSAK, as Project GC doesn't seem to offer a list of caches in a county in order of age. Even defining such a challenge could be tricky, as you can't require finding archived caches for a challenge so the "oldest X caches in a county" would be a moving target as archived oldies fall off the list. Then there's this prohibition in the guidelines that you'd have to be careful to avoid:

Maybe the way to go is to request a checker for, say, finding "10 of the 20 oldest active caches in the county" or whatever then, if you don't qualify, go out and find the ones you need before submitting it.

Thank you again.

This is one of that type of cache I found in Florida so I'm familiar with the concept.  It did give me credit for one I found that was archived at the time I ran the checker.  Yeah, I understand that kind of challenge can change as time goes on and caches get archived.  https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC9458J

I suppose I can submit my request and use that as an example.
