Release Notes (Adventure Lab®: Explore map appearance) - May 15, 2024

With this release (version 1.30.0), the Adventure Lab® team at Geocaching HQ introduces a new appearance for the Explore map on the Adventure Lab® app. This change makes it easier to tell which map pin is selected while browsing the Explore map.

When in light mode, a player can expect an appearance similar to the images below. No Adventure is selected in the left image, where all map pins are circular; an Adventure is selected in the right image, where the selected map pin is highlighted by an ice cream cone shape.

When in dark mode, a player will see an appearance similar to the images below. No Adventure is selected in the left image, where all map pins are circular; an Adventure is selected in the right image, where the selected map pin is highlighted by an ice cream cone shape.

This table explains the name of each pin on the new Explore map:

You got that the wrong way round, in the Dark mode example it's the one on the left that has one selected.

It's weird. Sometimes I have no chance to "open" an AL on the map. I try to hit the icon, and in some cases nothing happens. It's like there is no icon at this place. When I try others, it usually works again. So, when playing around, at some point one icon doesn't react any more. And when I then click others again, and then the not working one, it in a sudden does open.

Sorry, can't really describe it better :-(

I noticed that I can't open an icon if there is another name underneath it on the map (i.e. the name of a city). When I zoom in, as soon as both don't fall together anymore, I can open the icon.
