+pantadeusz
I have a very specific question regarding challenge cache requirements: I know that the owner of a challenge cache with a project-gc checker cannot require the finders to add anything to their logs proving that they satisfy it, this is what the checker is for. However, I also know that the guidelines did not use to be this way, people did use to have to paste specific things in logs in order to log challenge caches. Therefore I would like to ask: 1. When did this change specifically? As in, what is the exact date? 2. Let's say this happened on date X. Are geocache owners that were published before X, but that nevertheless do have valid project-gc checkers, allowed to require me to post evidence in my log? Thanks in advance for any informed answers. 1 Quote Link to comment
+barefootjeff
I'm pretty sure this was one of the changes introduced during the Challenge Cache moratorium of 2015/16. The new rules, including the requirement to have a project-gc checker, were introduced at the end of the moratorium on the 25th May 2016. 1 Quote Link to comment
Keystone
Challenge Caches published before April 21, 2015 are considered "legacy caches." For those older Challenge Caches, the finder needs to comply with the logging requirements specified on the cache page. Some owners of legacy caches have opted to update the logging requirements to rely on a checker. Others have not. Even if a checker is available for a legacy cache, the requirements on the cache page control. 1 5 Quote Link to comment
+kimsu71
Here's the link I found. Look at "7. Signing log" https://www.geocaching.com/help/index.php?pg=kb.chapter&id=127&pgid=206 1 1 Quote Link to comment
