+Slytherin
I bought a clone 12v car power lead last week. The Garmin one is outragously priced but I bought a clone from Lynx cables in Scotland for £14.00 Excellent service and a great product. http://pfranc.com/cgi-bin/pub/c_uk?pid=eP3 Alex. (I have no connection with this business - just a satisfied customer) [This message was edited by Kimrobin on March 11, 2002 at 02:22 AM.] [This message was edited by Kimrobin on March 11, 2002 at 02:22 AM.] Quote Link to comment

phredd
Kimrobin Just visited the site you mention for a lead. I am not quite happy with this cable. It says it is 12volt dc but there is no mention of a voltage drop to the required 3 volt used by the e-Trex. Can you enlighten me. Has yours blown up yet?.LOL Phredd Quote Link to comment

Maybe you could edit it down even cheaper El10t Quote Link to comment

+Slytherin
Seriously Phredd, yes the output is 3v. The lead is for the etrex series that needs a 3v input, maybe they thought it was obvious and didn't bother stating it. The lead works fine and is good value for £14.00 shipped. Alex. +apersson850
I made my own. Bought the eTrex connector from pFranc, cost less than £3.00. Modified a mobile phone charger from 7 VDC to 3 VDC. The phone was an obsolete analogue model, so it wasn't used anyway. Here in Sweden you can buy an universal car power supply, that can be set to 3 VDC output. Cost about £3.50. Add the connector and you are there, at about £7.00 total cost. Could hardly be cheaper. Anders Anders Quote Link to comment
