  1. Thanks a lot for the replies... have got them from "The Cat's" site cheers
  2. Does anyone still keep an up to date list of all the UK caches in various formats?
  3. Might have to book in at the St Bedes again
  4. quote:Hmmm. They have a moderator who edits posts without explaining what he is editing out and why.. ..We had that happen on here too, and the moderator concerned is no longer a moderator. Just so you know... I did state my reasons for editing the said post, and I no longer moderate the forums by choice because of clueless newbies and their ill informed rants. Have a nice day
  5. Over recent weeks I have been the target of heated discussions with regard to my handling of "DodgyDaves" infamous thread. Due to the level of animosity and even personal insults that have been directed at myself I no longer feel inclined to keep putting all the time and effort into policing the forums, logs, caches etc. Just by means of an explanation for those outspoken individuals who may not know all the facts... I know "Dodgy Dave" to be a good friend of Mr Lovelock and has attended social functions at the Lovelock household so when I followed the link to the ITV webpage that extolled the virtues and sincerity of Mr Lovelock and contained Links directly to his business web site I removed this and explained why. Now I have noticed that a lot of the people throwing temper tantrums about my "censorship" were not even cachers at the time this all blew up originally and suspect even if they had taken the time to research what went on back then they still would have only got a glimpse of the aggravation it caused. To this end I make no appologies for the "censorship". I wish my replacement all the best, he/she will have two very helpful people to work with.

What it means is that the subject of Mr Lovelock is not open for discussion on these forums whilst I have Moderator rights... If this does not suit you then you will need to lobby the powers that be to have another moderator in my place.
  7. quote:Originally posted by Teasel:To spare anyone else from the embarassment of only finding a shameful 98 caches , this http://www.trbf.com/teasel/view_duplicates.php may be useful. No wonder the totals are so high... All you with duplicates... get it sorted, you will have the Merkins labeling us as cheats
  8. quote:Originally posted by Team Blitz (Michael):I know that you lot wont value my opinion much as I am just a teenager, but here goes: I think that mentioning Robin Lovelock (see, i'm not afraid to say his name) should be acceptable in these forums as we are a community. We should put all of this begind us and accept the past and focus on NOW. I think it's a bit silly to just stop any conversations that go in that general direction as that is just running away from the problem With all due respect Michael you are not aware of the damage this man and his business interests did to the hobby and whilst we do value your opinion we will not be debating this issue any further. Please refrain from stiring things up... what needed to be said has been said and that is the end of the matter. Regards Monz
  9. I will explain my actions with pleasure Moss... DodgeyDave posted a link to website that had done a review on Mr Lovelocks business website, there are links from here directly to this site, this is why I edited the post and removed the link... and explained why I edited the message. For reference please see http://opentopic.Groundspeak.com/0/OpenTopic?a=tpc&s=1750973553&f=1500909683&m=3230925893 Re: Deleted thread... I wasn't aware of this but if it contained links to Mr Lovelocks business interests I could understand it as in the past we agreed to remove threads that had anything to do with him or his business interests as the threads always turned into flame wars, as is proved yet again.
  10. Whilst we are on the subject... My fave is Liptons Yellow Label which is the only tea I enjoy without milk but I only seem to be able to get it abroad and never in this country... Have any of you guys or gals seen any in the UK?
  11. quote:Originally posted by Geo Weasel:The clues that say "At the foot of a tree" LoL....your in a forest of 600000000 trees....LoL, shocking! There is one down the side of Derwent Water that gives the cheat clue as "under a rock"... there are more rocks on this hill than there are blades of grass on a soccer pitch
  12. F-Stop and I do almost all our caching together but we plant our caches under our own names... the one cache we did plant as a team F-Stop was named as planter. I think you just need to accept that one of you will be the planter unless you create a user that is the team and do all the plants under this name maybe?
  13. just SMS'd the tracker 07:30 9th November Hes just about to intersect the M25 near Basildon thats waypoint 34 on his route... go get him guys n gals. I've got to wait fer him to come back ooop norf
  14. I'll have 20 of those if you still need more peeps to dib in. Cheers Monz
  15. The Moderator concerned has been asked to justify his locking of the thread. I'm sure he believed he had reason and should be along shortly to explain this. Please hold back until he has had time to respond, thanks for the understanding.
  16. quote:Originally posted by The Hornet:Oh dear, I'm in a quandry and need your advice! I see from the logs that a couple of my own caches are now home to some highly desirable artifacts (Tim & June bears). tut tut tut... And to think you were proposed as a UK admin... the shame of it all
  17. How about sharing some of your obvious coding skills with the Mark at geocacheuk. Or even an under licence copy of the "robot" That is one splendid page me thinks... Well Done
  18. ahhh the good old days... I can remember going to find Woodhorn Woods on me pushbike only to find JStead had just beaten me... I placed cache N0.18 in the UK the following week
  19. OK.. I have been doing this for quite some time and I did ask the US approvers to leave the UK ones for us to approve about 3 months ago but the problem seemed to be that people were out caching all day and then adding the caches last thing before they retired for the evening, of course with the time lag the Mericans woke up to find some caches to approve and got on with it. If the list can be seperated by Country or just the UK ones highlighted in some way this would be a boon. PS Monz is still here Richard

  25. You will be missed mate... Hope everything turns out OK for you whatever your problems are. Thanks for the time you have put in and the support you have given us other Moderators. If I had to pick another I think Tim & June would be my choice.
