Must Find Cache Types - Webcam

Webcam Caches are a Legacy Cache Type. They should be on everyone's "Need to Find" list. I have only found a few myself.

 

Just make sure you log them correctly with a picture from the webcam itself. On November 5th a Webcam in Wyoming GCKKCA was Archived because it was not functioning properly, and Finders were logging the cache with selfies.

 

There is only 193 Webcam Caches Worldwide and currently 7 of these Webcam Caches are disabled.

When I was in Europe this year I made Webcams a priority and found five. (I also have three found previously in Australia.)

 

The heart of munich GCHNBF Bayern, Germany

Fritzicam Donauradweg GCMCX5 Wien, Austria

Wuerzburger webcam GCJJ20 Bayern, Germany

Cologne's 14 Traffic Cams GCMX7C Nordrhein-Westfalen, Germany

London - Beatles Abbey Road GC6F12 London, United Kingdom

 

I was on a river cruise when I found the German and Austrian ones. The Austrian Webcam was several kms (6?) from the centre of Wien and I didn't think I would get a chance to get to that one, but then the boat docked  and I turned on my GPS to check what caches were nearby, to find the Webcam was only 300m away along the river bank. Joy! That made my day😁.

Your List is out of date as of yesterday, when I archived a webcam cache due to abuse by people posting selfies instead of webcam photos.  All or nearly all were visitors to my home area.

 

So, now it's 192 webcam caches left, of which 6 are disabled.

Nup, they're not on mine. If I happen to find myself close to one I'll probably give it a go, but otherwise I'm not fussed. I prefer going after exotic outdoor experiences rather than exotic icons.
