hello geocaching community I live in Washington state on the Olympic peninsula   that has a trail system called the Olympic discovery trail and would like to know how do i find out who owns the land ?  any advice ? so far no one has got back to me through the emails I've sent. thanks

County assessors in Washington usually have maps online that allow you to see who owns each tax parcel. I'm in Skagit county and I use it from time to time.

Trails like this are often a cooperation with many jurisdictions, with tribal, federal, state, county, city and even park entities that own and maintain sections.

Agree with WRASTRO, looks like PTC is your best bet. 

 If they're the ones who aren't responding, your area's Reviewer may be able to offer helpful info on permissions (who owns where).

Usually the county Property Appraiser's or Tax Assessor's office. Current ownership info, with map search capability, is available free on their website in many areas though some counties are too poor/cheap to catch up to 21st century accessibility.
