Message notification

I can’t get rid of the blue dot. It is on the app icon on my phone and ipad. When I go to messages the blue dot is next to a name indicating a new message. But there is no new message. I open the message thread  and the last message from them was several days ago. Why do I still have a blue dot and is there anything I can do to get rid of it? I even tried shutting down my phone and restarting but to no avail

Thank you for reporting this issue. Can you confirm you're using the latest version of the Geocaching® app (9.37.0)? Does the dot disappear if you send a new message in that conversation?

I have the same problem.
I cant get rid of the blue dot.
Deleted the app, reinstalled it. Checked out and back in.
No changes.

What to do now?

You might try viewing your souvenirs - I get the blue dot notification when I have a new souvenir, and it goes away once I have looked at my souvenirs.

Go to Profile, then Souvenirs.

 

It's a blue dot on my Profile icon; I get a yellow dot on the Messages icon if I have a new message to look at.
