Cheap smartphone not working with ALs

When I went to do my LAST benchmark this month, I switched over to the AL app on my phone.  Standing outside my car within sight of one of the locations mentioned, my phone could not detect the AL I had looked at in my home location (20 miles away).  Since I couldn't pull up the question, I left after snapping a photo of the benchmark.

Do I need to buy an expensive Smartphone?  Mine only cost 100 dollars and has worked for geocaching.  I am hoping that the AL app was having a bad electronic day.

Suggestions are wanted.  Thanks!

So while you're at home you saw an adventure lab on the AL app. When you went to a location your phone could not find the adventure lab? We use old phones and have never experienced an issue like this.

Was it the Adventure Lab at South Dakota State University?

You didn't have any filters set?

For example if your filter is set to show adventure Labs that are new within the last 30 days, it could have shown a few days previous you looked at home, but not the day you went. Just something to consider.

Edit: never mind that's definitely not a new adventure lab!
