The busiest day - I predict a new record of 15 types tomorrow.

I predict the record for most types in a day is going to be broken tomorrow (Friday 12th August). Not by me, but I can feel it. The perfect set up is for 15 types not counting lab caches is ready and it'll look something like:
Traditional: HQGT: Troll Droppings GC20Y24
Unknown: HQGT: Within Reach GC4B84C
Multi: Fremont Library GC1F79P
Letterbox: HQGT: Geo Post Office GC3Z3PE
Wherigo: Fremont GC3FQDQ
Ape cache: Mission 9: Tunnel of Light GC1169
GEO HQ: Geocaching Headquarters GCK25B
GPS Adventure maze: GPS Adventures Maze Canada - Abbotsford, BC GC9RW7C
Earth: Puget Sound GC2HV0X Virtual: Late for the Interurban GC7B9AY
Webcam: High Five over Eye Five GCKVR5
Locationless: Let’s improve the outdoors - Locationless Cache GC8NEAT
CITO: CITOWoodstock - GWXVIII GC9NF8X
Community celebration event: GeoWoodstock Registration Event - GWXVIII GC8HMXA
Event: Celebrate Your Milestone - GWXVIII GC9WT83
Lab cache: Brunch with Dinos (part of The Mysterious Neighborhood of Fremont)

You may attend the Mega GeoWoodstock XVIII - GWXVIII GC86VDF but attendance only counts for the 13th August.

Not counting lab caches, the record is currently 14, tied between over 100 geocachers including myself CheekyBrit. Check out history being made at https://project-gc.com/Statistics/TopNumTypesinOneDay

Your list is missing a virtual :)

Are those other event types not available on August 13th when you could get the giga and theoretically get 16+lab?

13 + lab is the highest that has been possible in Finland so around 200 cachers have that. A handful have done 14 + lab somewhere abroad.

I formatted your list.

The timing on the Abbotsford Events makes really doing this as opposed to simply logging it as done rather tricky.

The Event only lasts 30 minutes, 19:00 - 19:30 and the CITO ends at noon.  I think the list of finds you've compiled won't really work.  A.P.E., HQ and likely webcam  need to be early morning there, and everything else around or on route to Abbotsford.

I wonder if this year we'll see anyone going for the record, either matching 15 types, or going for 16.
For you see, on May 25th we have GCANXX1 GeoWoodstock XXI, a Giga event, GCANAA GWXXI: GPS Adventures Maze Exhibit, as well as a block party in Europe, either GCAKWJG Party im Gaswerk Augsberg, Bayern Germany, or GCAE6TT Za strašidly do bludiště, Jihočeský kraj Czechia.
Throw in your usual suspects like Traditional, unknown, multi, Letterbox, Wherigo, Earth, Virtual, Webcam, CITO, Event, Community Celebration Event, Adventure Lab and you can tie the record at 15. Find a way to teleport and also get one of the APE caches or somehow get HQ to be open on a Saturday and the record is yours.

Don't forget to add the locationless cache that's available!

I'm hoping to set a personal record of 11 types on that day:

GIGA, GPS Adventures Maze , Virtual Traditional Mystery Locationless Earthcache Event AL Letterbox Wherigo Multi. If somebody publishes a community celebration or cito i can get to 13... highly doubt ill drive to colombus to get a webcam.

Keystone is absolutely right, to avoid event stacking you'd have to have them a distance away. I foolishly thought it was 20 miles or 2 hours, but it'd just have to be a distance away, probably en route to the Webcam.
Oh, and I totally missed the locationless. So without leaving the states, someone can tie the record at 15 types.

Looking briefly at publicly available flights, the best I see is a British airways flight from Munich airport 9.10am - Pittsburgh airport 4.08pm but you'd pretty much miss all of both big events. If some fictitious person were to attempt this they'd need to charter an international flight and in optimal conditions that is an 8 hour flight.. No biggie.

You know I bet someone could whip up a script to find high-type-count days and then whittle the high ones down to most reasonable and likely ways to achieve them by algorithmically figuring out closest/easiest routing options... It should be doable - get an AI to do it :antenna:

I bet we'd see a rise in events and gatherings of people willing to do more extreme travels to boost their high type count find day stats... :)

I had plans for 16 for this weekend (Germany/Czechia), but due to circumstances I'm not able to attend the Giga. Hope someone else pulls it off. 💪

It's possible! (an hour from the venue). Driving to columbus for a webcam gets 16.

Some friends of mine managed to get 16 icons last Saturday, combining the Giga in Prague with the Block Party in Hannover (and getting all other possible events along the way).

There were literally busloads of cachers doing this in a tour organized by a commercial service.

That is absolutely fantastic. I don't like getting the title stripped away from me, but I don't blame them one bit. I would pay a pretty penny to get on that tour and keep my title at the top. I don't know if I'm quite enterprising to have put that tour together myself were I in their situation.

Don't get me wrong, but there is no such thing as a "title" in geocaching.

"Most icons in a day" is a part of your personal statistics. Not less, but also not more. You cannot really compare your stats to that of other accounts in a "competitive" way (which would be implied by terms like "title" or "record"). Doing things like this in an organized tour requires zero effort by the participating cachers, except paying the money and being on time at the meeting point. If you, OTOH, planned and exexcuted your own "most icons per day" trip all on your own, that's in my view a much higher achievement even if the final icon count was less than that of the group.

I hear you. I use the word 'title' as a self-absorbed confidence boost - I'm a goofball. At the competitive edge of this game the precision of the rules starts to blur so things lose their significance for sure.
I organized my busy day all on my own and almost had the 'most types in a day' to myself at 16 by adding APE cache to the list, but my flight got delayed and cancelled due to a storm.

Not gonna lie, I had to look up what OTOH means. Its 'on the other hand'.
