RuhRow.... Apparently the reports of stagnant post offices are true. A week later and I believe both our packages are still somewhere in our home state. Last movement on the one going across the country was Wednesday ("In transit" with no other location - WAS originally due by the 15th!) and todays update on the northbound one confirms it hasn't moved far...

According to the almighty Google, I could drive the one north in a little over 8 hrs, so... step it up, USPS!

JK - I know they're working hard and the recent snow didn't help. Send positive waves to speed them along!

I was awestruck when I opened my mailbox. I had looked at the list of participants and said to myself, “wouldn’t it be amazing if sweetlife got my name as we are FB friends?!?” Sure enough, the package is from her. Thank you so much! I needed some cheer as I haven’t been very cheerful lately. I, of course, love the coin. Since this is my first year, that was all I expected. All the added little items were such a surprise! 
I am glad I added a couple of little things in my package to my person. But now I feel as if I could have done much more.

It's taken 9 days to move that far south and I'm hoping it's now in an USPS facility for international travel, and NOT that they're just taking the extreme scenic route to Canada.

To all those participating in the Happy Holidays Mission like I am, and eagerly awaiting a package to arrive....The USPS is working hard to get those packages through!  I know, because I've worked at the USPS for 25 years.  If you mailed your package to save money and shipped it out as ground shipping or retail ground, or worst of all - Media Mail, it will take 3 to 4 weeks for delivery and sometimes longer for those processing plants in Cincy, Chicago and Detroit that are hit hard with COVID.  If you want it to get where it's going quickly, within the USA, then priority would be the way to go.  Please keep in mind, that the USPS processes FED EX mail (we process some of their mail and the trade-off is that they fly our mail for us) and we also process UPS mail.  Fed Ex and UPS have limited their customers to only sending out so many packages  per day, leaving the postal service to pick up the pieces because we do not limit our customers.   I know that I am personally working hard at processing YOUR packages in a timely fashion.  I am also the person that seeks out 'lost' or delayed packages within our system.
