Placing a new cache

it has been along time since I placed a cache, how long +/- does it take to get approval, assuming they are gonna approve it?

and do they send an email to you?

Anywhere from 1 minute to 1 week for me. Yes you get an email.

Make sure you really submitted the cache for review. You should have received two emails at once, if so.

I'd like to hide my first cache. I'm relatively new to this, discovered a cache as a muggle in Dec, decided I wanted to play. Now I have a ton of little trinkets and treasures and would like to hide an ammo can and create a bug hotel. I don't have premium yet, and can't seem to find the right info about hiding, but would love to see the travelers go through my area. Any tips?
