Hi Bristol COs!

How do you get permission from the Council to place your cache? I want to place my first cache and have somewhere in mind in a park. I can't find a suitable email address on their website so wondered what others do.

We have never discussed placement online.

Every cache we got permission for (all) were by meetings with whoever was in charge (park & rec, or borough manager) at the time.

have a look at this site, you can use it for reporting problems whereas in your case you can use it to ask for help. Tick the "Other, please specify" box and by "whos responsible for the land" select "Dont know" then pose your question in the other boxes.

Good luck. I have permission from BCC for a few and the amount of red tape is absolutely ridiculous. I had to meet them on site (nice enough people mind) go through absolutely everything with them, then months of emails between them and other interested groups. Also good luck getting through the system to the person you need to speak to. I found it impossible, luckily a friend knew the right person to speak to, noone I spoke to at BCC did....
