tkaub
Hi, I'm new here and would appreciate your help. I would like to setup a team building afternoon, it is a one time geocache in Luxembourg city centre. And since it is the city centre it is more complicated with the authorities, so I would prefer to set it up as a private and temporary, just for an afternoon. Please may you advise what are the next steps, -how to set it up? -how to create the queries with GPS locations. - and do we have any sample templates that I can copy and adapt. Thank you T. +hzoi
You won't be able to publish a temporary cache on the site. But you can certainly create a waypoint on one or more GPS receivers and have people look for it. If you wanted something more complicated than a traditional cache, you may want to create a document with the description yourself and either hand it out on paper or send it digitally so that the team memebrs can access it on devices. tkaub
Thank you for your reply. Do you have a step by step guide on how to do this? Or a template that I can reuse? Thank you T. Quote Link to comment
+kunarion
Do you have a step by step guide on how to do this? People can find temporary caches using Google Maps which they may already have on their phones. This works especially well if the caches are near streets, and suitable for people who are not signed up as members on Geocaching.com. Add extra info or hints if the location is tough to find. You'll probably have to walk the routes, to be sure people can find the places. The cache info can be as simple as cache name (whatever you like, such as Cache #1, Cache #2), coordinates, more info and hints. Each in its own line, or in a text table. So you can have a whole bunch of caches on one sheet of paper. To get the coordinates of each place, you can use Google Maps or other GPS Apps. Search “Free GPS” in the App store for a list. +cerberus1
Since you mentioned private along with temporary (you can't have a geocache or event if private), I'd say a simple scavenger hunt may work for "team building" . Edited July 26, 2016 by cerberus1 Quote Link to comment

+hzoi
I would like to setup a team building afternoon, it is a one time geocache in Luxembourg city centre. Place an Event. That's another way to do it -- as long as any member of the geocaching public is invited to participate. This sounded like an intra-office event, which is why I didn't suggest making it an event.
