+BigOpe
Was wondering if there's going to be an event this summer where we have our second home, but under Community/Events it looks like it only goes out as far as the current month. Is there a search I don't know about? Quote Link to comment
+niraD
You could find a nearby event listing, then click on the "nearby caches of this type" link. That should list nearby events, regardless of the date. Quote Link to comment
+T.D.M.22
You could also set up notificaions for new events(this only works for events not published yet.) These can be set up for any location you wish, not just your home location. Quote Link to comment

Is there a search I don't know about? The calendar goes well beyond the current month. Scroll down past all the listings, until you get to the actual calendar and click on the arrow at the top right. https://www.geocaching.com/calendar/ B. Quote Link to comment

+tallglenn
The event calendar is truly horrific to use. I'm assuming it is on GS list of things to fix? Quote Link to comment
+fuzziebear3
Of course, not everyone publishes their events months in advance. 2 weeks is the minimum though. You could host an event if you want to make sure there will be one? Quote Link to comment
+BigOpe
Thanks for all replies. Hosting is kind of a non-starter, as we're only up there for a few months in summer. I'll look into Pup Patrol's post, though. Quote Link to comment

Why does your limited time there prevent you from hosting an event? Events have been hosted by people visiting a location for just a few days, let alone a few weeks or a few months. +Gill & Tony
I drove from Seattle to Vancouver via Whidbey Island and hosted an event while we had lunch. I was only in the area for a few hours. We met some lovely people. Quote Link to comment

I'll look into Pup Patrol's post, though. Hosting events while travelling or vacationing is a good way to meet local cachers, and other cachers travelling or vacationing in the same area. Events can be hosted while far, far from home: COG's Hasta la geocache Siempre, Cuba http://coord.info/GC5KNJE B. Quote Link to comment
