GeoLog81
Is it possible to upload pictures while creating listing? I've created the listing, then uploaded pictures to the gallery, and now I can edit the listing, but there I can't even select the Image from the gallery, I must copy the links to the pictures to the notepad and then copy it back to the listing. What I'm doing wrong? Quote Link to comment
kunarion
Is it possible to upload pictures while creating listing? I've created the listing, then uploaded pictures to the gallery, and now I can edit the listing, but there I can't even select the Image from the gallery, I must copy the links to the pictures to the notepad and then copy it back to the listing. What I'm doing wrong? The Gallery works differently for an unpublished cache than with a published one. Perhaps this is a feature, to prevent the possibility of others viewing pictures in advance, when a cache page is not yet active. On your unpublished cache page, if you click each image icon in the Gallery, you get a "thumbnail" view of it. But if you instead scroll to the bottom of the cache description and click "Edit" next to a link for any uploaded image, it goes to the "Edit Image" screen, and you can click that larger preview image to get the full-sized one and its URL. You always have to copy the URL and make an HTML "IMG" tag for any image that you wish to place into the cache description. Does that help? Edited December 7, 2014 by kunarion Quote Link to comment
GeoLog81
Copying the URL is what I've actually done, but I wanted to pick the photo in the graphical editor instead of copying the URL from the gallery... When I edit HTML, I don't have a preview, which is quite unfortunate when you want to put a lot of pictures to the listing so that it looks clearly. Quote Link to comment
WarNinjas
I am not sure I am clear on what you are asking. But if you are wanting to edit the pic after uploading it I would think you should edit it before uploading it. Or if you are not wanting to copy to note pad open up 2 tabs on your computer and have both of them set to your new listing. You can edit on one and pick the pic off the other. Again I might be way off as to what you are actually asking. If I am adding many pic to a cache page what i do is. Put out a bunch of these. More then I need. <center><img src="http://img.Groundspeak.com/cache/a0f1a0a9-af25-4574-9dc8-cd46521ca68e.jpg"></center> <center><img src="http://img.Groundspeak.com/cache/a0f1a0a9-af25-4574-9dc8-cd46521ca68e.jpg"></center> <center><img src="http://img.Groundspeak.com/cache/a0f1a0a9-af25-4574-9dc8-cd46521ca68e.jpg"></center> <center><img src="http://img.Groundspeak.com/cache/a0f1a0a9-af25-4574-9dc8-cd46521ca68e.jpg"></center> <center><img src="http://img.Groundspeak.com/cache/a0f1a0a9-af25-4574-9dc8-cd46521ca68e.jpg"></center> <center><img src="http://img.Groundspeak.com/cache/a0f1a0a9-af25-4574-9dc8-cd46521ca68e.jpg"></center> Then you can tell what one you are on as it will not have the Groundspeak word in it. Once I am done I delete the extras and that way I don't have to keep going back and coping the link. Quote Link to comment
WarNinjas
Here is one of ours that probably has more pic then any cache should. http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC4WH05_warninjas-spaced-out?guid=fd04e50d-0809-4083-b87f-8477aba4112d Quote Link to comment
GeoLog81
Yeah, but it's stil that manual way. In Blogger, for example, you just upload the pictures and then pick them in the editor... and you can batch upload them... Quote Link to comment
