Cannot give a fav point when writing a note for a cache

Hi Folks,

 

Hope this is not a known issue, otherwise this thread can be closed.

 

Today i wanted to give a favpoint to a cache that was found by me some times before.

I wrote a note, and thank the owner for creating such a good experience.

 

I ticked the checkbox "add to my favourit list", but this cache did not appear on my fav-list.

 

When i later wanted to edit the log entry for the note, the checkbox for the fav-point disappeared.

 

Hope you got the issue with my description.

So long as you've found the cache, you can Add a Fav point by clicking the Counter at the top of the page. it'll drop down a menu to Add a Fav point...

You might verify that your find log still exists.

The most likely cause is you have used up your allotment of 25 and don't have any to give out until you get more finds. To find out go to a found cache and click on the favorites box. The first line will tell you how many you have remaining.

Sorry for my late reply.

 

I now double-checked this issue with another cache.

 

Here my scenario:

 

I have one remaining fav point left.

I logged in to the geocaching.com website.

I wrote an additional note for a cache that i found before. With this note i want now to add it to my fav-list to thank the owner for the experience.

I ticked the checkbox add to my fav list. below the text input form.

I send the note and it appeared in the cache logs.

But this cache did not appear on my fav list, and i have still one remaining favpoint

I already checked that my original "found it" log is still there.

 

Can someone else try to reproduce this issue, so we can see if this belongs only to my configuration, or this is an global issue?

The system appears to not allow you to add a favorite when posting a note, even though that check-box is available. Since you have already found the cache, you simply need to visit the cache page and click on the box to the right of the cache name that shows how many favorites the cache currently has. You will then be able to add your favorite to the cache there.

That makes sense actually. Since you can only favorite a found cache not allowing it on a note is logical.

So the "bug" is that the "Add to your favourites" radio button should only be selectable if the selected log type is a "Found it", in all other cases it should either be hidden/greyed out/or unselectable (prefereably with an explaination as to why).
