check accuracy of gps

Accurate is relative. If the cache is not at the co-ords it won't matter how accurate it is. If the hiders GPS is off, it won't help you.

Most GPS units will get you within 30 feet, then depending on conditions you might get to 2 or 3 feet, but there things that affect a GPS that has nothing to do with the actual GPS

You can't really check the accuracy your GPS receiver "on the computer". The only way to check the accuracy your GPS receiver is to compare its readings against a known standard.

In a sense, you're doing that every time you search for a geocache, but as T.D.M.22 indicated, you're comparing your GPS receiver to the one used by the CO, and you don't really know how accurate that one is. If you can find a local object (e.g., a benchmark) where the actual coordinates are known with great precision, then that would be a good one to use to test the accuracy of you GPS receiver.
