Taking a TB out of your own hide?

Sure, you can log TB's in and out of your own caches. I've done it before because I've had TB's dropped in some of my caches which are visited very infrequently.....after the bug sits there a couple of months I figure the owner would probably appreciate if I moved it along, so I'll go get it and move it to another location that gets more traffic.

I plan on visiting Alaska and then the east coast in 2 weeks and was wondering if I could take the Travel Bugs and Geo Coins people have placed in my hide with me? Is that allowed or is it frowned upon because it's not part of the game?

You can retrieve trackables from caches you own. It is part of the game.

What you would do is use the "write note" log option, rather than a "found it" log.

Make sure the trackables missions are being met. Read each trackable's mission and if you can help with it, then go ahead. If you're moving them just for the sake of "adding miles", that might not be helpful. If you're placing then in caches that aren't frequently visited, then it might not be helpful.

Add photos to the trackables' pages to show the different locales that they visited. You can log them as "visited", which means you didn't drop them off but those caches were part of the travel experience.

Photos and logs are welcomed on the trackable's pages. Boring, endless "visited" logs that have no tales or photos aren't very interesting at all.

I don't see any trackables in the inventory for your cache, although two finders said they dropped tb's into it.

If those trackables are physically in the cache, but haven't been logged properly, you will need to log them as "grabbed" from those cachers, then log a "visited" to get the mileage corrected.

Perhaps you might want to give those cachers a chance to log them into your cache properly before grabbing them from them.

Sure hope that those trackables are actually in the cache.

I was unable log one of the travel bugs because it wasn't a recognized number. That TB has since been taken. The second one is in my possession now and will be logged asap. :)
