+Jonovich
I'm all for puzzle caches, but when a Happy New Year cache for 2013 was published nearby, with quiz questions to count the number of deaths from incidents in 2012, i find myself asking why?. Is it just me, or is that tasteless and sick? Jonovich. Edited for link.... Edited January 1, 2013 by Jonovich Quote Link to comment
+stijnhommes
If these numbers of fatalities have been on the news, using them in a quiz is no less tasteful than spreading the information around the globe. Calling that cache "Happy New Year" is not very tactful, in my opinion. Quote Link to comment
+eusty
To me it seems OK, after all you are answering questions about the year, and not all of them are death related. Maybe the cache title could do with a bit of tweaking. Quote Link to comment
+maxx borchovski
It does make you look and take notice of the number of people who died. If the cache makes one person realise they drive dangerously and it saves a life then surely its a good thing. I still remember what my driving instructor told me, 'It's a speed limit, not a target.' You should see the tactful road signs in Australia, we saw a giant red one on a freeway saying 'DOZY DRIVERS DIE!'. Quote Link to comment
+Lieblweb
If you don't like the cache & its content.... then don't solve it. Easy as that. It's the cache owners choice how/what he/she wants in their caches and as long as they meet guidelines. Quote Link to comment
+MarcusMaximi
I apologise if some people found it offensive. I have spent some considerable time updating the questions to de-morbidify it. I used a famous web site starting with w to search for news events of 2012 that matched the coordinates I had for the final location. Unfortunately the easiest ones for some of the months happened to involved deaths. However, this is a fact of life, and we see it on the news all the time, so I don't personally see a problem. However to be respectful to the more sensitive amongst us I have toned it down somewhat. Cache on Chaps Quote Link to comment
+Jonovich
Nice one MM, far more respectful to not be counting fatalities. Cheers, Jonovich. Quote Link to comment

I contacted GSP and the reviewer on this issue and have had no response (holiday period?) - you have worked quickly and appropriately, good for you! Quote Link to comment
