+McFlyAway
So, over the past couple of days, I've been building a wooden geocache box as the final to a multi. However, I can't seem to think of a locking mechanism for the door. Any ideas? Quote Link to comment
+CanadianRockies
So, over the past couple of days, I've been building a wooden geocache box as the final to a multi. However, I can't seem to think of a locking mechanism for the door. Any ideas? I've built several wooden geocaching containers. For straightforward locks, there's always the hasp and padlock. The padlock key can be hidden nearby or its combination can be provided on the cache description page (or solved as part of a puzzle cache). For trickier entry, you can use a childproof magnetic lock, either hiding a magnet nearby or requiring cachers to bring their own. I've also used hinges with removable pins, which cachers have to realize are removable. There are numerous other possibilities as well, including electronic locks. It depends on how clever you want to be and how much money (and effort) you're willing to spend. Quote Link to comment

It looks like what I have been looking for for a cache I've been planning for some time now, and a magnetic lock like this may just be the ticket. Very slick! Quote Link to comment
