Kobechill Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 I am a premium member since yesterday, it looks fun but i've got a question about pocket queries. I got one to work an he has send me an email with a zip folder, when i unzip it, it contains 2 gpx files, one file with the coords of the cache and one with additional waypoints. But how do i get this on my gps device, i have a garmin etrex 30. I tried some software but i cant work with them, so maybe someone has a good program i could use or maybe i don't need any programs i dont know Thanks already greets Kobechill Quote
Philologus Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 I have the Etrex 10 and assume it's the same, but the easiest way is to hook up the GPS to your computer using the USB cable and then use it like a USB drive (this should be automatic). Open the GPS drive and copy/paste, drag and drop the .gpx files into the Garmin > GPX folder. That's it. Restart the GPS and they magically appear. Quote
StarBrand Posted August 1, 2012 Posted August 1, 2012 Yup - no need for any external software at all. Just unzip and copy to the garmin\gpx folder on the device. Unhook and go caching. Quote
Kobechill Posted August 2, 2012 Author Posted August 2, 2012 Haha Thank you so much i feel a bit dumb right now . I was really worried that i would have needed difficult programs for thes PQ's Thank you! Quote
Graculus Posted August 2, 2012 Posted August 2, 2012 I've written a simple guide on getting a PQ and transferring it a GPS (Garmin or Magellan). Tells you everything you need to know It's all on my resource site - bottom of the page.
