Spanner15
Hi all! My family are heading to Hayle, Cornwall next month, and I was wondering, if any cachers living in Cornwall would like to recommend any amazing caches down that way? They can be quite far down, but not too far up, because we will be getting the train/using the car from where we are staying in Hayle. We love great views, clever hides and big caches too! Thankyou Hannah Quote Link to comment

+The Blorenges
In no particular order, I'd recommend GCYP4F Kernow I. Look at the cache page - You may well recognise the location. It requires a climb down some iron rungs set in the granite (look at the gallery) but we aged pair in our 50s managed it fairly easily. GC7D6D Right of Land's end - towards Sennen. GC7D6C Left of Land's end - towards Nanjizal. There are several caches near Land's End but for these two you have to leave the tourist trap and do some walking along the cliff path. GCNRZJ Cape View. Just a great spot. GC1AWWG Views over Redruth. Another great viewpoint and another good cache hide... You can see it... but who's going to get it? GCYK2T Got a light boy? Godrevy lighthouse. This is near to where you're staying. Great place for a walk, picnic and seal viewing. GC1TWHX (Earthcache) Porth Nanven Raised beach GCV89A Get to the point! This is a hard scramble, over granite, close to the sea, so not for anyone with dodgy knees/ankles/hips and not for young children. But if you can do it, it's a great location on the promontory in front of the famous Minack Theatre. There are also some excellent cache trails. Have a look at this link and zoom in on the map. Geocache Trails site. There's also a very new trail that went live just a couple of weeks ago which starts from near Hayle. It's not yet on the Geocache Trails site but this is the link to the first cache: Fordh Sen Myghal 1 Hope that gives you some ideas to start with. MrsB Quote Link to comment

+dartymoor
Cornwall's also got some really nice walks and loops, some on a big scale, if long walks interest you! Quote Link to comment
+The Patrician
When we were down there a few weeks ago I enjoyed: Asparagus Anyone? http://coord.info/GCGT2A (for the scramble) The Lizard Series plus several other caches starting at http://coord.info/GC2V640 (for the walk) Favourite Sites - Coverack http://coord.info/GC1R9C0 (for the unexpected outdoor sculpture park) The Lands End YOSM as it's about the only thing there that's free - park at Sennen Cove and walk round to Land's End http://coord.info/GC45CC http://www.trigpointinguk.com/trigs/trig-details.php?t=4337 Edited July 24, 2012 by The Patrician Quote Link to comment

+Scarymole
If you go to Falmouth then http://coord.info/GC2C7R3 is worth looking for Quote Link to comment
+me N u
We really enjoyed "The Hypnotist" GC16V4N (it currently has 40 favourite points!) which is close to Helston so not too far from Hayle - it is now part of a circular trail but worth doing on its own. Quote Link to comment
+RetallickRamblers
Although the trail is a beautiful walk too. Quote Link to comment
