+GordEtob
The Feb. 14, 2012 release had the following enhancement listed: • Added ability to dismiss the downtime notification banner that appears at the top of the website ahead of scheduled maintenance This new feature has never worked for me. Today, the message banner says "Geocaching.com will be going offline temporarily for a site update on Tuesday, March 13th, 2012..." and there is an "X" box in the upper right hand corner. But when I click on it, nothing happens. I still get the Downtime Notification Banner on my printouts. My system is Windows XP and I use Internet Explorer 8. Quote Link to comment

stebu
The close function has never worked for me (Win7, FF10). I sincerely hope they fix it today In the source there is a definition for the button: id="warningCloseButton", but I can't find any action related to it. Maybe I'm not lookin hard enough? +Huntleigh
Same here... Win7 and OSX on IE, Firefox and Safari... Never noticed it until the OP mentioned. Don't work for me (WinXP Prof & FF11). Not that I care - it will go away in a few hours. Quote Link to comment
+The A-Team
I've never tried it before, but I just tried it now. I dismissed it, it went away, I closed my browser, then I went back to Geocaching.com. No banner. FF11 on Vista. Quote Link to comment
