CacheMonkeez Posted July 13, 2003 Posted July 13, 2003 I'm trying to get some logging done and update my cache pages and the server is always busy. Is this because it's Sunday evening and everybody is trying to log finds? +mtn-man Posted July 13, 2003 Posted July 13, 2003 Yeah, I think so. The site is very busy on Sunday nights. I have been getting the same thing, or if they load it takes a while.
+sawdust Posted July 13, 2003 Posted July 13, 2003 I don't think it really has anything to do with it just being Sunday night. I have been useing the site off and on since 8:00AM and it was not any better then or at any time of the day. Sawdust92
+HitsMan and Chris Posted July 13, 2003 Posted July 13, 2003 Maybe they can take the money that I and others have contributed through premium subscriptions and add a server or dedicate one to the paying folks. If it was a free service, I wouldn't complain, but I am paying and should be able to have reliable access to the site.
+HitsMan and Chris Posted July 13, 2003 Posted July 13, 2003 Fellow cacher just pointed this out to me. I feel re-assured. Thanks, Jeremy! http://ubbx.Groundspeak.com/6/ubb.x?a=tpc&s=5726007311&f=9906058331&m=12360986&r=12360986#12360986
+Geofool Posted July 13, 2003 Posted July 13, 2003 It sure is frustrating. I think Jeremy is working on a hardware upgrade. Hope this comes soon. GF =========================================== Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.

If so it apparently didn't help
+Freelens&Mosie Posted July 14, 2003 Posted July 14, 2003 It is and has been very slow yesterday and today. I assume they are working on it. If not....hey guys...it's slow. O.K. done. Wisdom comes with age... but sometimes age comes alone.
+TEAM 360 Posted July 14, 2003 Posted July 14, 2003 I thought it was MY system, and I just got done beating the living crap out of my Dell tower and modem with a baseball bat....
CacheMonkeez Posted July 14, 2003 Author Posted July 14, 2003 Slow is tolerable; inaccessible is not right, espcially when you are a paying member. Just my opinion. quote:Originally posted by Freelens&Mosie:It is and has been very slow yesterday and today. I assume they are working on it. If not....hey guys...it's slow. O.K. done. +travisl Posted July 14, 2003 Posted July 14, 2003 I think the slowness you're seeing has to be volume related. I had trouble at 8:00 p.m. PDT Sunday, but by the time I was entering logs at midnight PDT, it was moving pretty quick. Now, at noon Monday, pages are pretty much inaccessible again. WWJD? JW RTFM.
+WVDan Posted July 14, 2003 Posted July 14, 2003 I've never had this error until this past week. Now I get it every day. If you get lost while geocaching, don't worry. Someone else will get lost while geocaching and find you.
+BluRock Posted July 15, 2003 Posted July 15, 2003 I too thought the upgrade would be complete by now. I also have some cache visits to update but I either go to sleep waiting or I get a web site not responding message. I'm hopeful the site will be back to at least what it was very soon. Sorry, I'm spoiled with quick response web sites. BluRock BluRock
+CharlieP Posted July 15, 2003 Posted July 15, 2003 Aaaarrrrgggghhhhh!!! Slow is not the right word ... makes me think of that commercial on TV comparing the www to Chinese water torture. Funny thing is that is will do a search, but will time out on a simple cache page retrieval. CharlieP
