travelbug question

We are new to geocaching and just found a travelbug. Do we create a new cache location to put it in, or do we put it in a location that is a pre-existing cache site? I have logged it as "retrieved" but am just not sure how to do the drop off.

Drop it off in the next cache you visit that you can/want put it in.

When you log that cache as found, you will see your travel bug inventory at the bottom of that page where you can select "dropped off" and it will put it in the cache.

Congrats on your first TB find! You do not have to create another cache - unless you want to - You can leave this bug in any cache you find. OR you can let him travel with you for a little bit, letting him visit other caches you find (if they are too small to place him) - then he gets more miles. You should probably try to release him within a couple weeks or so. Happy caching

 

Also, you can follow the bug after you release him to see where he travels if you want.

Congratulations on your first finds!

 

Drop it off in another cache!

Logging the drop can be a little difficult, the first time around.

You can also drop it off in a cache that you have previously found, but you would log that action as a "write a note" instead of another "found it".

Congrats, you DID do it, but...... (yeah, there is always a but)...

 

You never logged the cemetery cache where you retrieved the TB (B Dr and 9 mile) from. However, you did post two "found it" logs for where you dropped it (near G.R.), Jun 27 and Jul 8. Perhaps it was a mistake and you accidently logged the same cache, meaning to log each one.

 

Just trying to help. Down the road you probably don't want your stats goofed up because of silly things like double logging.
