+mpilchfamily
Need to give it a few days to dry. If you seal it in a bag of rise or dry pasta for that time the pasta/rise will suck the moisture out. The big problem is it was probably dirty water and left behind some gunk that is shorting the unit out. You can try contacting Garmin support about getting it fixed but you may be better off spending that money on a new unit. Quote Link to comment

+Paddle
Thanks, and yes it was muddy water from the bottom of my yak! I needed to drop about $300+ into the economy anyway! Hahahaa Quote Link to comment
+webscouter.
The GPS should be water resistant to that depth. A call to Garmin may get the unit replaced even if it is out of warranty as it should not have allowed water inside. Doesn't hurt to call. Quote Link to comment
+roundnround we go
Garmin has an out of warranty repair for their GPS units, for a 60csx it costs $110. You send yours in and they send you a newly refurbished unit. I just sent mine in and received my new one within 2 weeks. Here's a link to the Garmin out of warranty info Quote Link to comment

If you seal it in a bag of rise or dry pasta for that time the pasta/rise will suck the moisture out. One extra step ... Put it in a bowl of rice and then put it in the refrigerator >>> YES <<< the refrigerator. Saved a digital camera for me this spring. ( and I was skeptical - but it did work ) Quote Link to comment

I haven't tried this one, but it makes sense since your fridge has to remove water to keep the freezer from frosting up. You just have to do this in a de-frost fridge. I don't know if the others are around anymore, but thought I'd mention it to be sure. Quote Link to comment
